Scaling building retrofit

80% of the buildings that will be in use in 2050 are built today. 17.5% of today's global greenhouse gas emissions come from operating our buildings, much of which is heating and cooling. To reach net zero, we must tackle the efficiency of our buildings.

"To achieve net zero carbon by 2050, we will need to improve almost all of the UK’s 29 million homes, meaning we need to retrofit more than 1.8 homes every minute between now and 2050." - UKGBC

The construction industry's capacity to retrofit enough homes to hit net zero by 2050 is far from where it needs to be.

Thermap is on a mission is to help scale building retrofit and enable property owners to optimise their net-zero investments. We're doing this by gathering rich primary data from which we deduce insights about existing buildings.

Through aerial mapping, we're building energy performance models of individual buildings to be used for retrofit prioritisation, planning and validation.
